Baby Durfee...and the rest of us: Fun in the Sun

Morgan and I are finally home from our very fun California vacation. We had such a good time! I am feeling a little of the post-vacation blues today, so I figured blogging about our trip would cheer me up :-) I have decided I am going to break up the overview of our trip into a few posts because we did so much and I have so many pictures that I don't think I have the time/attention span to do it all in one post. So here is part 1!

The day we were set to leave for California (our flight was in the evening) Morgan had a couple bloody bowel movements :-( It was a little scary for me. I rushed him to his pediatrician and after a few hours spent at the doctor's office, Morgan was diagnosed with a milk protein allergy. Basically this means that while I am breastfeeding, I can't have any milk products. This is because any milk products I eat are passed to him through my breast milk. The doctor said he will probably grow out of this allergy eventually, but for now no milk for me. Or ice cream or yogurt or anything with milk for that matter. Now for those of you who know me well, you know of my unfailing love for milk. To say this was sad news for me was an understatement! I have since had multiple dreams about drinking a tall glass of ice-cold milk. Ahh I cannot write anymore about this because it is making me depressed. Anyways, the reason I tell you this is so I can depict why the day we left for California was HECTIC! The 3 hour detour to the pediatrician put me behind a little bit. After we left the doctor, we rushed to Walmart and then home to pack.

Here is Morgan while we were at Walmart. You can see the huge bandage on his hand from getting his finger pricked for a blood test. Very intense!

Thankfully I got us all packed and we made it to the airport in enough time. The flight was as smooth as a flight with an infant can be. Morgan, being the awesome baby that he is, slept for most of it. It was a four hour flight which was a little long for me to be squished into a plane seat with Morgan on my lap, but all-in-all it wasn't too bad. Here is my cute baby before we boarded the plane.

He has become so curious about my phone, so whenever I am taking a picture of him he tries to grab it. You can't really tell but he is making a grab for the phone in this picture :-)

The first big thing we did in California was attend the wedding of one of my good friends, Kylie. I was a bridesmaid in her wedding, and we all had a very fun time! Of course I forgot my camera at home (which turned out to be my M.O. throughout the whole trip) so I just have a few pictures taken on my phone. Kylie looked beautiful, the venue was amazing, and the weather was perfect! That is the recipe for an unforgettable wedding if you ask me.
