The flight out there went better than I was expecting. Morgan slept the whole time and was very good. The only thing I struggled with was holding him comfortably in the tiny airplane seat. Is it just me or are airplane seats shrinking? I swear every time I fly the seat is noticeably smaller than the time before. Thankfully the man I was sitting next to was very nice and let me hog some of his space :-)
Morgan before the flight. He likes to make silly faces!
Waiting to board!
He was champ on the flight and took a nice looonng nap :-) I couldn't ask for a more cooperative baby!
Our family reunion started on the 4th of July. This was Morgan's first 4th of July, so naturally we had to take some pictures of him in his little outfit :-)
He wasn't a huge fan of the hat...
Laying out and talking!
He loves his aunt Abby!
For the reunion we stayed in a cabin up in Big Cottonwood Canyon. It was so beautiful up there! The cabin was fun and there was plenty of room for all of us.
Here are the big windows that were in the cabin's living room. The view through those windows was amazing!
This was the view of the inside of the cabin from the living room. That was a real bear skin hanging there! It was a little creepy. The cabin was so fun with multiple floors that had bedrooms, couches, chairs, tables, and space to spread out.
Here is my cute cousin Meghan on the deck of the cabin. You can see the amazing view we had!
Craft time! The tables on our deck were designated for crafts that we all had fun with throughout the reunion. This picture is funny because Noah (my cousin) and my dad were basically the two most random people to be out doing crafts :-) We all had a good laugh when we saw them.
Another view of the windows from the cabin living room. It was so fun because every afternoon/early evening a thunderstorm would roll in. We all loved watching the huge lightening from these windows.
On one of the days of our reunion we went up to Park City. There are some fun rides and other activities you can do up there. I didn't get a whole lot of pictures that day, but did get a couple of Morgan with his great-grandparents :-)
He loved Grandpa!
One morning while we were at the cabin, the tub in the basement bathroom flooded! Apparently the drains got clogged, so all of the water that drained from upstairs went directly into the tub in the basement. It was a mess. My dad and my uncle Zach had to remove the water using buckets so it wouldn't overflow onto the bathroom floor. My dad would fill the bucket up, pass it to Zach through the window, and Zach would then dump the bucket outside. I have to say it was funny to watch them.
During the reunion, us girls all went and got our nails done! Morgan tagged along :-)
As you can see, he really enjoyed it ;-)
Morgan on the day we left the cabin. He was transfixed by that little american flag! So cute.
Once the family reunion was over, Morgan and I stayed at my grandparent's for a few days before flying back home. During that time we hung out with my mom and sisters and got some good R&R. We were all so exhausted from the reunion that we just wanted to relax and hang out. We did get in a couple of fun activities though!
I HAD to get Costa Vida while we were there! I have been craving that stuff like crazy since we moved to St. Louis.
We went to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point. They were having their 10th anniversary celebration, so they had a Harry Potter theme going on. It was awesome! They had wand making, defense against the dark arts training, and we all got to be "sorted" into different houses. I was in Hufflepuff, my Mom, Ella, and Morgan were in Slytherin, and I think Abby was in Ravenclaw? I can't remember exactly. We also saw an IMAX movie and walked through the museum. I love how interactive that museum is.
We also spent a day at BYU! We walked around campus, went to the art museum there, and my mom drove us to where her and my dad used to live when they were going to BYU. It was also where they were living when I was born :-) It was interesting to see how much BYU has changed since the last time I was there a few years ago. There is so much construction going on! Crazy, crazy.
A statue of Brigham Young that is on campus :-)
Well that is the gist of our trip to Utah! Here are some pictures of Morgan with various family members throughout our trip. He is one loved little boy!
Aunt Ella
Great-Grandma
Grandpa
Aunt Ella again :-)
And again :-)
Great-aunt Liz
Aunt Abby
The stuffed animal on his head was a little dinosaur he got at the dinosaur museum. He was SO proud of himself that he could hold his head still enough to balance it there.
We had such a fun time in Utah, but it was great to come home to our daddy!
Thanks for sticking it out to the end of this post! In a few weeks, Morgan and I will be off to another adventure. My friend Kylie is getting married, and I am a bridesmaid in her wedding so we will be traveling to California for that. We are then going to stick around for a couple weeks to spend time with my family. Yay!
