Hello New Blog!

Well I have officially converted my baby blog into our family blog. We've got a new title, web address, background, font, etc. I am excited for this change and to get to continue blogging! We have been very busy these past few weeks. Here are some of the things we have been up to.

A couple weeks ago we had a huge storm come through St. Louis. This was the first time since we've lived here that we had to seek shelter due to a tornado. It was very scary but I was so thankful that we live on the bottom floor of our apartment complex! Since we used to live on the top floor, I was glad that we moved a few months back. Our bathroom is on an outside wall, so we decided it would be safest for us to stay in our hallway with all the doors shut and our mattress over the opening to our living room. We watched the news and when the tornado was close, we got into our little shelter. The storm was really loud but we never actually lost power so I don't think the tornado got all that close to us. Knox was very anxious (surprise, surprise) but Diache was calm and Morgan slept the whole time! Ahh to be a baby :-) Here are a few pictures of our little adventure.

We had our mattress in front of the entrance to our hallway and then I propped Morgan's crib mattress on the other end. My idea behind it was that we could put it over our heads for more protection...it ended up just being a nuisance that kept falling on us :-)

The dogs have radar eyes!! It was really dark so the flash made them light up.

It's hard to see but this much rain accumulated in about 20 minutes. The area that looks like a river is where a sidewalk is!

Another thing we got to do recently was take Morgan to his first baseball game! He had such a fun time! He really enjoyed looking at all of the lights and taking it all in. Of course he didn't know what was going on, but there was a lot for him to look at so he was happy. We went with my cousin Alyssa and her husband Mike. Unfortunately I didn't get a group picture, but here is one of Morgan, one of the three of us, and a couple of the stadium. Our seats were so good, and they only cost $8!

I promise Morgan had more fun than it looks like in these pictures!

We also got a new car! It is a 2011 Toyota Rav4. Isn't it cute? It is my "mom car" :-) I love it!! It is so fun to drive and it is nice because I don't have to worry about driving Jeff to work on the days I need a car. Now we each have our own transportation and I am loving it. Freedom!!

Here are a couple cute pictures of Morgan and the puppies lately. I am a little picture-obsessed when it comes to these three. I just cannot stop taking pictures of them!

Diache loves the boppy.

Well I think that is pretty much it for our recent events. Jeff is doing an internship at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital this summer and he is loving it! He is very busy but really enjoys what he is doing. I have been busy with school (never ending school!) and taking care of Morgan. It was hard to keep up with school after Morgan was born, but I am starting to get the hang of things. Morgan's nap time is my saving grace!

Morgan and I are going out to Utah for the 4th of July in a couple weeks. I am SO excited because we are having a family reunion on my mom's side, so everyone will get to meet Morgan! This will also be Morgan's first time flying on a plane, so we will see how that goes ;-)

Here's to a fun summer!

  2. I love your little shelter! I remember Jeffrey's first tornado experience, we had to go to the neighbors since we didn't have a shelter and we played Apples to apples for the first time. We actually had a blast. Except it set a precedent, now tornado warnings mean popcorn and games, not run for safety. Love you. Thanks for the blog.
