Ultrasound Update

Today I had my week 35 doctors appointment. We got to have an ultrasound, and it was so crazy to see how big baby Morgan is looking! I have to say though, we didn't get to see much. Morgan had his face smooshed against the placenta, so we couldn't see it at all :-( I was kinda disappointed. He is just a shy little guy! We got to see some of his bones, though, and his little heart which is always fun. We also saw that he is head down and has a good amount of amniotic fluid around him. Those were basically the two reasons that we had the ultrasound, so I am glad that we had good news in that regard. Also, something super interesting we got to see was some hair on his head! Here is a picture.

You can see the top of his head on the right hand side of the photo. The ring of white around the head is hair! So we know he will at least have some hair when he is born :-) Jeff just had peach fuzz, and I had a TON of black hair, so I have been curious what Baby Morgan will have. Looks like he might be taking after me in that regard! We shall see once he arrives.

I also got to talk to my doctor about this horrible sciatica I have been suffering with. During the ultrasound, the technician pointed out that baby's head is right over my right leg. My sciatica is on my right side, so it makes perfect sense. His head is pinching my sciatic nerve, which is what is causing all of my pain. My doctor said that as he starts to move further down in the next few weeks it should, hopefully, go away. She gave me a prescription for a muscle relaxant to take because she said that sometimes just relaxing the muscles around the nerve helps to relieve some of the pressure and pain. She said if it doesn't get better, she will refer me to either a chiropractor or physical therapist. I am hoping that it doesn't come to that, but I am getting pretty desperate. I cannot live like this for much longer! So we're hoping Morgan moves down soon. Move, baby, move!!

I think that is all the baby news I have for today! I am currently holed up in our bedroom because we just had the carpet in our living room decontaminated and cleaned. Apparently the tenant who lived here before us was not very sanitary with her dogs. We have been battling stinky carpets since the day we moved in, and finally I couldn't take it anymore and told our manager I was literally going crazy with the stink. She promptly set us up with a cleaning company to deal with the smell. Hallelujah! The only downside is that the decontaminate is not safe for me to breathe while pregnant, so I get to spend the rest of today and tomorrow in our bedroom until it all airs out. Oh and the dogs aren't allowed out there either...so I get to listen to them whining all day because they want to leave this room. I suppose they are preparing me for motherhood! Hopefully it will all be worth it once the carpets are dry and clean :-)

Hope everyone is having a great day!

  1. I can't believe how close you are to having your baby! Feels like only a couple months ago that we got the announcement. I hope everything goes smoothly this next month for you.

  2. Put the picture of your first family picture together...when he is placed on your chest and you just gave birth. You know what I'm talking about?
