We're Getting There!

Can't believe that I am already 34 weeks! Ever since Christmas, this pregnancy has gone by in a flash. I am starting to panic that I'm not ready for him to come yet!! I still have a few weeks though, thankfully :-) Here is my latest belly picture, I went with a Valentines theme since it is still technically February...

I'm not sure why the chalkboard ended up looking so dark around the edges. It is what it is I guess. The baby is the size of a large cantaloupe! He is getting so big, and I am definitely starting to feel very uncomfortable because of it. Here are the questions!

How far along: 34 weeks 2 days

Total weight gain: 25 pounds

Maternity clothes: Soo necessary at this point. Although, in this picture I am wearing a non-maternity top. It is stretched to the limit! I spend most of my time in yoga pants. Love them!

Stretch marks: I still just have the ones on my side that I mentioned in my last belly picture post. Crossing my fingers they don't get any worse! What's the likelihood of that? :-)

Sleep: I have actually been sleeping really well lately....yes!!

Best moment of this week: Making a lot of progress on the nursery

Miss anything: Sushi

Movement: Lots!

Food cravings: Nothing except sushi. I think it is just because I know that I can't have it. Once the baby is born, I am going to tear into some sushi BIG time!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!

Have you started to show yet: Yes

Gender: Boy

Belly button in or out: Still in, it's holding on for dear life!

Wedding rings on or off: Wedding band on, engagement ring off

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy...and sometimes a little grumpy ;-) Being uncomfortable is no fun! Jeff commented today that I am definitely happiest when I am laying down.

Looking forward to: My doctors appointment this week and our birthing class on Saturday

Well there you have it! We have a big doctors appointment coming up this week. I am SO excited for it! We get to do an ultrasound to make sure that he is head-down and my amniotic fluid is at a good level. It will be fun to see him now that he is so big! I'm hoping we get to see some good pictures of his face. I am just dying to know what he looks like! This is also my last appointment in the 2-week schedule, which means I will transition to once-a-week appointments after this one. My doctor also said she is going to start checking my cervix at this next appointment, so we will start getting an idea of how far along I am. Like I said above, I am feeling panicked that I'm not ready for him to come yet! Hopefully we have a few more weeks, because he could technically come and be considered full term at 36 weeks. That's in less than 2 weeks! I think I need more time than that :-) I just need this nursery to be done!!

We also have our birthing class this Saturday. It is long, I think the class goes from 8am-5pm. We will get a tour of the hospital, though, and hopefully it will help me to feel better about the whole labor and delivery process. Maybe after this class I will feel more ready...?

Another not so fun update is that my sciatica has come back this week. It is the worst it has been so far, and it is SO bad. It is like excruciatingly painful at times. It has caused me to have to walk with a really bad limp, and I move at a snails pace. I look so pathetic! I feel so pathetic. It has really slowed me down in the housework and nursery decorating areas of my life, which is torturous for me. It is no fun.

On a happier note, I had my shower here in St. Louis this last Saturday! My friend Heidi and my sister-in-law Charlee put it on, and it was SO cute! They did a bun in the oven theme since that is the theme of this blog :-) It was awesome. Here are some pictures of the fun day.

Jeff and I both just feel so blessed by all of the wonderful people we have in our lives! Thank-you to everyone who came to the shower and who helped to put it on. It was so fun!

So like I said in my answers to the questions, we have been making some good progress on the nursery. We got our crib, changing table, and dresser all assembled. Well, when I say "we" I really mean Jeff :-) I am terrible at putting things together. My old roommates Jessica and A'lyce can attest to my lack of building skills (the leaning TV stand?!). Hehe.

Here is a picture of Jeff putting together the dresser.

I am sitting on the rocking chair cutting out hand-outs for my Primary class at church. I am SO helpful.

I am planning on posting pictures of the whole nursery once it is completed, so I am going to hold off on posting any pictures of the things we have done at this point. Hopefully the big reveal will be soon! I am going to post a picture of one of my completed crafts, though, because I am so proud of it. Haha it really isn't much, but I am glad to have something crafty actually completed. All of my other crafty things are still in the works and seemingly never-ending! Here it is...

Ta-daa!!! I did them in colors that coordinate with the crib bedding. They look a little crazy right now, but hopefully they will make sense when you see them with the bedding.

Well as if this post isn't long enough, I thought I would do an update on things we have been up to lately! First, here are some pictures from our Valentines day!

We started the day off with our lovers breakfast of heart-shaped pancakes and eggs. Well, the eggs didn't turn out heart-shaped but whatever.
Jeff was able to come home for lunch, so we had heart-shaped egg salad sandwiches!

I took the doggies to the park for a little lovers-day playtime! It was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun.
I made a heart shaped pizza for dinner

And strawberry cheesecake for dessert! Yum!
So I just realized that those pictures are basically just the food we ate on Valentines day. Can you tell that I am pregnant? Always got food on the brain :-)

We also got the chance to go to a PBR competition when it was here in St. Louis last weekend. I had my doubts to begin with of whether or not I would like it, but it ended up being SO fun! We decided we are going to have to make it our family tradition to go every year. We went with a bunch of Jeff's friends from school, and it was a good time had by all.
He was one excited boy!

I was so proud of this picture--I took it right as the rider was being thrown from the bull!

Well I think I have probably bored you all enough :-) Thanks for sticking it out to the end! Once again, Jeff and I are just so grateful for all of the wonderful friends and family we have. We are getting excited for our little boy to be part of the mix!
