Happy Holidays!

I am finally updating the blog after a month of absence! Life has been crazy, and I haven't really had any baby news to share. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We spent ours with Jeff's family in Kansas City and had a great time. I just love the holiday season!

Here is my latest belly picture!

Of course I had to make it a Christmas theme seeing as how it is December (time is going by so fast!). I feel like my belly is really starting to show now which has been so fun! It has also brought along its fair share of aches and pains. Thankfully I haven't had any issues with swelling yet, but my back is starting to feel really sore. I spend as much time as I can with a heating pad on it to try and ward off the worst of the pain. The good news is that the pain is all normal, the bad news is that it will probably get worse as my pregnancy progresses. Such is life!

Another big change since my last post is that I am feeling the baby move ALL the time now! I love it. It started out just being little butterflies I would feel every couple days or so. Now I feel him all the time, and I am starting to be able to predict what times of day (and night) he will be moving most. Jeff has also been able to feel him move a little bit which has been really cool.

Time for the questions! I bet a lot has changed since last time.

How far along: 22 weeks 6 days

Total weight gain: Somewhere around 10 pounds

Maternity clothes: Loving them! Chose to wear one of my maternity dresses for the belly picture today. So comfortable and cute too!

Stretch marks: Nothing yet!

Sleep: Sleeping great, but about ready to invest in a pregnancy pillow because they look DIVINE!!

Best moment of this week: Feeling the baby move while I was standing up for the first time (usually I could only feel him when I was sitting or laying down)

Miss anything: Running

Movement: Lots!

Food cravings: This is totally random but this week I have been seriously craving a French Dip Sandwich!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope! Loving the sickness stage of this pregnancy being over.

Have you started to show yet: Yes

Gender: Boy

Belly button in or out: In

Wedding rings on or off: On

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: Christmas

We have a lot coming up these next few weeks. Next Saturday we are moving! Down to a first floor apartment. I am so so so excited about not having to climb these wretched stairs anymore. That being said, I am dreading the whole moving process. I am not able to do as much physically as I could pre-pregnancy, so I feel like this move is going to be really hard for me. Thankfully Jeff will be home a lot next week because it is his finals week and all his classes are ending, so he will be able to help a lot with the packing. It will be painful, but it will definitely be worth it!!!!

We are also going to be going to my parents in California for Christmas. We are SO exited to get to go and enjoy Christmas there with my family, and it will be fun for Jeff to have a nice big break from school. He has been feeling really burnt out lately, so I am excited for him to have some time to rest. After Christmas, Jeff will be going to Hong Kong for 2 weeks for school. While he is there I will be staying with my parents. It will be such a great experience for him and I think he is starting to get really excited :-) It is weird to think this will be our last trip to California before the baby is born.

Once we get back from California I am going to really start getting the nursery together. I have most everything I want picked out, so it will just be a matter of getting what we need and putting it together. I already have one piece that I am really excited to have in the nursery. It is a vintage trunk that I found on one of my whim trips to Goodwill. Here is a picture of it in the store:

I am planning of refurbishing it and painting the outside to match the nursery. I am really excited about it! I also hope to use it in some newborn pictures once the baby arrives :-)

I don't have any new ultrasound pictures to share but I know the baby is approximately 8 inches long and weights a little more than a pound. He is getting so big! He also still has a lot of growing to do.

I also can officially announce that we have picked out a name for our baby boy. He will be named after Jeff, so he will be Jeffrey Morgan Durfee III (Jeff is a Jr.) and we will call him Morgan :-) I am so excited about the name! It is both special and cute. We are so excited to welcome our baby Morgan in a few months!

I have been worrying a bit lately about how the two "babies" we already have will do with our new human baby.
Knox in particular is very attached to me, and I am hoping that he does okay with this big change that is coming. I am planning to give him as much love and attention as possible once the baby comes so he feels included. I think Diache will be fine, he already went through the jealousy phase when we got Knox, so hopefully this time around will be a little easier for him. Hopefully they can both transition well!

I promise that I wont go so long before I update this blog again :-) Maybe the next post will come from sunny California? Happy Holidays!!

  1. FINALLY! ;) Just kidding, I know that blogging is totally an on and off thing, especially when you are busy. I love the trunk you found! That is so awesome! Hong Kong!?! For what? Sounds AMAZING!

  2. Great post! Lots of excitement. Do you mind if I use your idea of doing a pregnancy questionnaire on my blog? Let me know! =)

  3. Of course! I stole the idea from someone else anyways, so it wasn't even something that I thought up originally :-)
