The Gender Reveal!

And there you have it! We are so thrilled that baby Durfee is a baby BOY!!!! It was so exciting that the intuition I've had all along was right. Now we get to think and plan all things boy! Neither of our families have a lot of boys....mostly girls, girls, girls....so I think it will be fun for everyone to get to have a new little boy!

As for news on the hematoma...it is GONE!!!!! YAY!!!! The doctor said that everything looked just as it should be. The baby was the right size for how far along I am, the placenta looked thick and healthy, there was no longer a visible hematoma, and all of the baby's organs were formed perfectly. The technician explained to me that everything organ-wise is completely formed by 12 weeks. So from 12 weeks on you are literally just growing the baby in size. If the baby doesn't have full formation of any organ by 12 weeks, the organ will not develop at all. Pretty interesting! I guess that is how they are able to see if the baby is going to have any major problems way before he/she is born.

We were told the baby weighs 7 ounces. Jeff used the kitchen scale we have and found that that is about the weight of three metal tablespoons. Its amazing to think of how small he still is! He has a lot of growing to do.

I am also sporting my first pair of MATERNITY PANTS in this picture. I have to say, they are SO comfortable. I am seriously in heaven wearing them. It is like a whole new world! Basically the smile I have in this picture is due 90% to the fact that those maternity pants are so dang comfortable!

The poem I used on the board is a nursery rhyme. My brilliant mom gave me the idea to use it, and I think it is so cute! It makes this post even more fun :-)

What are little boys made of?
Ships and snails, and puppy dogs tails.
Thats what little boys are made of!
What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice, and all things nice.
Thats what little girls are made of!

We also got some new ultrasound pictures and I thought I would share a few.

This one is cool because you can see the baby's brain!

Here is one of his little feet. You can see all of the bones fully formed.

I already basically have the crib bedding picked out for our baby boy! I am borderline obsessed with it and cannot stop thinking about it. Here is a picture.

I'm so excited about it! I am also excited to start decorating the nursery. I am not planning on fully decorating probably until after Christmas, but I want to start really planning and maybe ordering a few things now. So exciting!!

We are so happy and relieved that the hematoma has healed and that the baby is doing well. I feel like I can breathe a little bit easier now. We are also so excited to plan for our little baby boy! :-)
